'COMPO - SITE'
'COMPO - SITE' is a collection of motifs which have
been produced from the re-composition of separate photographic
images according to a non-finite procedure of random
or visual associations and connotations.
This syntactical exercise born of a technical precedent
loosely centered within the genre of the "collage"
seeks to amplify and re-interpret (by relation and interrelation)
the urban incidents composed and related as recorded
within the individual frames into inter-related composite
images based upon the interpretation of formal parities
and resonances within the conjoined contents.
The formal composition of these arrangements also derives
from, and are frequently generated by, the promptings
of the visual contents and their nature and dynamics
of both surface, relief and linear elements.
The resulting works echo the basis of the dada / surrealists
procedures of random conjunction utilizing and providing
an architectonic document with covert critical potential
of the 20th Century western urban landscape.
The project culminates in the presentation via the
catalogue of images which adopts the 'readymade' format
of the postcard which invites the participation of the
observer in the broadcast and dissemination of the work
as an alternative to the conventional agencies of the
dealer / gallery system.
